NLP and lli

lli is based on the Logical Levels model, which was created by Robert Dilts who is one of the worlds leading exponents of NLP. If you want to know more about NLP, this page provides you with a brief introduction to this fascinating subject.

So what is NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)?

An easy way to think about NLP is that it enables you to understand what makes you and other people tick; how we make sense of everyday life in the world we live in and how we communicate that to ourselves and others.

NLP is a pragmatic school of thought and is the study of how people think, feel and behave. A lot of NLP is devoted to finding out how you can use your mind, your emotions and your body to live your life more successfully.

The components of NLP are:

  • N - Neuro
the mind-body and how it works
  • L - Linguistics
the language we use to describe and categorise our world and to make sense of our experience
  • P - Programming
sequences that repeat, patterns of thought and behaviour that help us or hinder us

"Our focus is to look for the 'differences that make the difference' in the way people organise their experiences" Robert Dilts

NLP was founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970's. It has its fans and its critics. For us, NLP has changed our lives for the good and we have had many wonderful 'aha' moments along the way.The logical levels model has been a core element of that and we continue to use it extensively in our work.

To learn more, your can search the internet, read a book on NLP or attend a training course.  We have personal experience of the courses run by ITS founded by Ian McDermot. Other UK based organisations and trainers in NLP are PPD, Sue Knight and David Shepherd, Perfomance Partnership.  In the states we recommend nlpu.

The lli is based on a model taken from the world of NLP. However you do not need to know anything about NLP to complete the lli or to get the full benefit from your personalised report.
